This ½ hour learning session, made-up of 2 modules, introduces employees to the City’s attendance management process.  It  describes the steps that a supervisor should follow to assist an employee with meeting their obligation of regular and consistent attendance at work.  It  also provides employees with tips and strategies for communicating with their supervisor regarding  their attendance and any specific disability needs. 

The session will address:

  • the City’s Workplace Accommodation Procedures;

  •  the City’s sick leave entitlement and sick leave certification procedures; and

  • Long Term Disability (LTD) and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims

  • what happens to insured benefits (health, dental and life insurance) and pension contributions when on sick leave, LTD leave and WSIB leave.
